PaycheckNote (paychecknote.com) is a small independent publisher of money guides for people who live paycheck to paycheck. This page explains what data the site collects, why, and how you can ask for it to be removed. It applies to everything under paychecknote.com, including the Budgeting, Credit & Debt, Investing, Retirement, Taxes, Side Income, Career & Income and Insurance sections.
What we collect
You can read every article here without creating an account. We do not ask for your name, income, credit score, Social Security number, bank details or any other financial identifier — a guide like Roth vs Traditional IRA for Late Bloomers is written for a general reader, not for your specific file.
- Analytics data. Pages viewed, approximate location (country/region level), device type, browser, and the link or search that brought you here.
- Contact form and email. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Server logs. Standard web-server records including IP address, kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.
Cookies and third-party services
We use Google Analytics to understand which guides people actually finish — that is how we decide whether to expand a topic like rebuilding credit after a card closure or leave it as one article.
We also display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads, including personalised advertising based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised ads at any time through Google Ads Settings, and review partner practices at Google's partner sites policy. Where required (EEA, UK, and similar regions), a consent banner appears before non-essential cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice later.
Advertising is how this site stays free. It does not change what the guides say: we are not paid by banks, brokers, insurers or card issuers to recommend products, and we are not licensed financial advisers.
How long we keep things
- Analytics: retained in aggregated form, typically up to 14 months.
- Contact emails: kept up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Server logs: a short rolling window, usually under 90 days.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA and comparable laws, you may request a copy of any personal data we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to processing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising in the CCPA sense. Because we hold so little, most requests are resolved by deleting an email thread.
Contact
Email celiluyanikoglu@gmail.com or use the contact page and we will respond within 30 days. More about who writes these guides is on the about page.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date shown on this page.
